Country Crossroads Map
Country Crossroads Free Map - Listing Direct Sell Farms
Even with millions of consumers within an hour drive, many small farms find it challenging to direct market their fresh, local products. The Farm Bureaus of Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Benito County have prepared the 2011/2012 Country Crossroads Map to promote farms and ranches in the Central Coast that sell directly to the public.
The map is made available FREE to the public so you know exactly where to find your juicy strawberries, tangy cherries, and sweet corn. We have been very successful in promoting tourism and our members’ businesses through this publication and many of your neighbors are on the map. Last year we distributed almost 40,000 maps in Santa Clara County, the Central Coast, and across California. Maps were distributed at local farms, hotels, shopping malls, chambers of commerce, farmers’ markets, county fairs and festivals, Gilroy Gardens, Winchester Mystery House, and a Kaiser medical clinic.
In addition, the map was advertised by a Silicon Valley food blogger, to Slow Food South Bay, and in several Santa Clara County newspapers. Map members were promoted by the Farm Bureau in other ways as well. Some farms gained exposure through feature stories in the South County newspapers while others were suggested for class field trips and still others were on local TV news stations.
The map can be obtained by sending a business size, self-addressed, stamped envelope to:
